It's unbelievable/shameful/disgusting that officials/authorities/individuals in power would abuse their positions/take bribes/engage in such unethical behavior. {It made it difficult to/It was frustrating because/I felt helpless when I {tried to do business/navigate the system/enjoy myself and was constantly met with demands/faced obstacles/dealt unfair treatment.

Our recent experience at this establishment was truly disappointing. First, the bathroom was in a horrible state with leaks all over the floor. It caused the entire place smell of mustiness. To add insult to injury, the service was just as horrible. The staff was unhelpful and acted completely disinterested in helping to our needs. We definitely won't be coming back anytime soon.
